This Post Traumatic Stress Disorder website has been designed by the two of us for the interested lay person, particularly someone with PTSD themselves or someone with a close friend or relative with PTSD. We have worked on the problem in Australia for 30 years – always working independent of the orthodox, who appear to get it wrong consistently. What appears here gets rid of current myths. It allows the interested lay person to understand PTSD and to get rid of it themselves. The information explains the ‘Do It Yourself’ (DIY) approach to both the accurate diagnosis and to the getting rid of it.
The website also gives important information for the lay person about so-called Attention Deficit Disorder, and gets rid of myths there too. ADD and PTSD are intertwined in many people – when one is present and giving trouble, the other is often present also and compounding the trouble. When both are present both need attending to. If their possible presence isn’t thought of and looked for, then, at any age, one or both may well be missed.
We include two lay articles, one on PTSD, one on ADD and lastly, for reference, the ‘Diagnostic Criteria’ for PTSD of the American Psychiatric Association – the ultimate in orthodoxy. |
